Provisional Categories

These are the launch categories for runners while the Speedrun.com board is being prepared. The goal is to keep the first rules simple, comparable, and easy to verify from video. The public Steam challenge runs from June 25, 2026 at 4:47 PM CEST through July 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM CEST.

Any%

Start a fresh run and reach the ending as fast as possible.

Best for first clears, routing, and the main leaderboard.

All Collectibles

Reach the ending after collecting every required cosmetic or hidden collectible available in the run.

Best for route planning and completionist runners.

First Escape

A discovery race for the first verified full clear video from the community.

Best for streamers and challenge creators who want a clean story.

Baseline Rules

Final Speedrun.com rules can evolve with the community. These are strict enough for fair early runs without burying new runners in edge cases.

No checkpoints. No mercy. Full video or it did not happen.
  • Runs use real-time attack timing.
  • Timing starts on first player control after starting a new run.
  • Timing ends when the final escape or ending trigger is reached.
  • Use the current public Steam build unless a category says otherwise.
  • Full-run video is required. Game audio is strongly recommended.
  • No cheats, macros, turbo inputs, save editing, memory watching, or modified game files.
  • Pauses are allowed only for normal menu use; excessive pause buffering may be rejected.
  • Include platform, version, controller/keyboard, and notes about major route discoveries in the submission comment.

How To Join

1. Grab Greed's Folly on Steam.
2. Record or stream your full attempt.
3. Post the VOD in Discord with your time and category.
4. Top runs get featured in community posts while the official board is set up.

Creator Kit

Greed's Folly is streamer-friendly: show the whole game, monetize videos, make clips, and use footage in reviews or challenge videos. Please link the Steam page when you post.
